After days of struggling with my altered book, I finally had an a-ha! moment around midnight on Wednesday. I was struggling with a theme. Even though the book has very familiar subject matter to me I couldn't find the story, then it came to me...why was the subject matter familiar??? That's the story! Now write the story with words and thread in the style of Leslie Dill! (See Poem Dress above) I feel much better today now that the book has a solid theme.
Leslie Dill said that working from the deep wells of inspiration that spring from other artists ..."is like eating ghosts." I love this concept of "collaboration" with artists... the fact that they need not be alive or next door is even more exciting. Leslie Dill has alot to show those who need to look at this amazing artists work.
