This is the mini collage from my "Everything Book." I tried to make my four collages work together visually and thematically by using the animal silhouettes in each and utilizing the same materials in multiple panes. On the right page, I took each pane from the left and zoomed in on a specific area and recreated it in marker and watercolor. This would be a great way to show students how they can use collage as a starting point for an artwork and allow them to demonstrate their understanding of compositional choices.

Come, Sit, Stay, Hush Puppy

ReplyDeleteI also like the mini collages as a project for students (like me!) who are intimidated by the whole big white page. I think it could be a good tool for encouraging students who are suffering from Twyla's White Wall Syndrome.
