One Minute Sculptures
Art 2-D Comp. I

Goal: To have students learn to respond to images quickly through gesture drawing as well as develop group unity by coming up with a one-minute sculpture to perform for the other students.

Objective: Each group must form a one-minute sculpture while the other students do gesture drawings for one-minute of each group.

Lesson: Demonstrate to students the idea of gesture drawing, getting the main idea of the subject in a very short time. Each performing group will be given an object to use in their sculpture and they will be given time to come up with their sculpture. Students who are not performing will be given paper to do gesture drawings while the groups perform their sculptures.
