I think the blindfold drawing were a fabulous way to introduce collaboration and trust in the classroom. It forces the artist to trust the lead, sight and description of the viewer, while forcing the viewer to slow down and really study what they are describing to the artist. It forces the viewer to really see. I also think you could cut up these drawings into six pieces and divide them between the partners to create collaborative flag books.
Patty, I completely agree with you. This is a wonderful ice breaking activity to do with students. Both the artist and interpreter need to slow-down, trust and rely on each others to complete the drawing. This activity also helps students to “loosen-up” and not be afraid to make a mistake.
